Another Bald Eagle Sighting
A few days after having seen the first bald eagle my husband and I saw another bald eagle coming home on the Ravenscliffe Rd. He was sitting atop a balsam fir only 20 feet from the road. We watched for about 5 minutes from the car and eventually the noise of the motor drove him away. We saw this bird up close and flying. The wingspan must have been about 5 feet. He was huge!!

Bald Eagle
As I was getting dressed yesterday morning, I happened to look out the bedroom window and to my amazement I saw a bald eagle flying directly to our house. It passed right over the bedroom and I was able to get a very good look. What a beautiful bird and how gracefully it soared.

The pileated woodpecker visited our bird feeder yesterday morning. He flew around from tree to tree and to the feeder for about 10 minutes but did'nt figure out where the suet was. See my picture below.

Completely Frozen
It's safe to say that the lake has completely frozen over during the night.
There is only one open spot which is where Buck River comes into the lake. It was -15 degrees this morning.

Early Morning Visit
A buck and doe walked by our house this morning. I was too late getting my camera though. Perhaps they will grant us a visit another time.

First Snow
It started snowing just before nine last night. The snowflakes shimmered and danced against the dark night sky. Just beautiful. Today we woke up to a winter wonderland.

Grey Day
It looks like we are in for some dreary weather for the next few days. I hope to get back to my watercolours!

I finally did it!
Creating this blog was not as difficult as I thought it would be. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon and I learned a lot about how this all works.
