Pileated Visit
The pileated woodpecker visited our bird feeder yesterday morning. He flew around from tree to tree and to the feeder for about 10 minutes but did'nt figure out where the suet was. See my picture below.
Watercolour Painting - This was this year's Christmas card.

"Aunt Helen's Amaryllis"

"Sunbath"
Watercolour Painting- The inspiration for this painting came from a photograph taken on the Buck River.
"Winter Sunset "
Watercolour Painting- This was one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen on the lake.
"Poppies"
Watercolour Painting- This was my first half sheet painting. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Poppies are of course a classic subject for painting.

Watercolour Painting - This little owl was on our bird feeder for several days last winter. He scared away all the chickadees in his search for mice under the feeder.
"Tetes a Tetes"
Watercolour Painting - One of my first paintings which is now owned by a friend.
"Cardinal"
Watercolour Painting - A friend of mine loves cardinals. This was a little thank-you gift for her.
"Winter Berries"
Watercolour Painting- I painted this specifically so that I could use it for my Christmas card last year.
"Yin and Yang"
Watercolour Painting - This is my latest painting.
"Cabin at Fox Lake"
Watercolour Painting - The boat leaning against the shed and the wood piles out front made for a pleasing composition.
I am a retired chemistry teacher who has fallen in love with watercolour painting.
I started painting a few years ago and am striving to learn more about this very challenging and fun medium.
I reside at Fox Lake where I am completely surrounded with nature, a great inspiration for my paintings and photographs.
