Pileated Visit
The pileated woodpecker visited our bird feeder yesterday morning. He flew around from tree to tree and to the feeder for about 10 minutes but did'nt figure out where the suet was. See my picture below.

Completely Frozen
It's safe to say that the lake has completely frozen over during the night.
There is only one open spot which is where Buck River comes into the lake. It was -15 degrees this morning.

First Ice
It was -17 degrees this morning. The lake has begun to freeze over. Only the middle of the lake has open water. See the picture below.

A buck and doe walked by our house this morning. I was too late getting my camera though. Perhaps they will grant us a visit another time.

First Snow
It started snowing just before nine last night. The snowflakes shimmered and danced against the dark night sky. Just beautiful. Today we woke up to a winter wonderland.
